It happens every year. Coaches are fired and the hotshot coordinators start sniffing around.The question for the board is what is the best path to a top job at an elite program.

Do you:

A) stay at your position until the head coach leaves?

B) stay at your position until an elite job opens up elsewhere? 

C) take a head coaching position at a mid-major, a MAC or AAC team, rack up the wins against weaker opponents and accumulate experience?

D) take a head coaching position at a middling program in a power five conference ?

E) have a dad that's a legendary coach and a hot wife, get hired by a demented NFL owner known for his increasingly bad decisions, fired because you're bad at your job, and then somehow hired by a desperate and decaying former SEC power program where you stay for one mediocre season before being offered one of the top jobs in all of college football?
