Some may have seen the incident discussed in the story below where a BYU basketball player punched a player on an opposing team in the middle of a game this week. The BYU player was suspended one whole game and reprimanded by the Western Athletic Conference.

There was also a little melee at the end of last year's inaugural Miami Beach Bowl between Memphis and...BYU which saw 12 Memphis players punished and...no publicly available punishment of any BYU players. That brawl was incited by Memphis players jawing at the end of the game about their win and the Cougar players retaliated physically.

Now obviously these are two separate incidents involving two separate teams within the school, but two physical altercations in a year for teams within the same school is fairly alarming. I know we have some Utah-based Buckeyes around here, but I wanted to see if anyone else sees a pattern emerging?
