I have 2 Shih Tzus who are going on 15 years old now.  They were my Son’s (Twins) dogs, but my sons have jobs & stuff - flying the nest.  One of the dogs has recently gone completely blind.  I’m sad about that because he still has a bit of the soul of a puppy in him even if the energy is low.

Since he lost vision I talk a lot more & snap to let him hear where the back door is - also ring the bell on it.  He freaks out same as I if he gets touched & wasn’t expecting it.  Tonight I did “dry willies” so he knew I was about to scritch his ears & he didn’t jump in fear.
