In my time...
Ohio state is a blueblood beyond its historical famous coaches for some great AD hires (who also hired.the coaches)...
1) Geiger- absolutely got Ohio State investing in facilities. Way beyond what anyone thought, he had the vision for the Buckeyes. I was in my 30's and didn't appreciate then what he knew and advocated for. He set the Buckeye program so far ahead of any B1G program and many of the.other conferences... ( Most will never understand or appreciate what he started).
2) Gene Smith.... having the largest D1 athletic program, he juggled through success, TatGate and an NCAA that was hell bent on making an example of the Buckeyes. Absolutely prepared for the job. IMO the Buckeyes are now set to compete for 3-4 championships in football as a result of understanding the future.of CFB...

Very much wait and see, but the future is bright and so far he sems to be understanding what Ohio State is. Hopefully a balanced focus while managing a never ending c change to ollege athletics.
Amen to our administration, its easy to poke holes for a particular situation or hire, but we have had some visionary AD's that most have zero perspective of their contributions to OH-IO...
