So we're in the process of selling our home. One of the contingencies that came out of the inspection was radon mitigation due to the fact that our level measured 5.8 which is above the allowable limit of 4, I think. It's $900 to have the mitigation thing done so I'm doing it. What the hell.

Having said that, what's your take on radon? Is it a legit concern to one's health or a scam? I always leaned toward scam. I'm even more so in that camp after I learned the guy that performed the home inspection also provides mitigation services! Not hiring him, obviously.
