Jeremiah Smith is in the game and the best in the game.

With the release of its Dynasty & Team Builder Deep Dive, EA Sports revealed the Ohio State sophomore wide receiver is a 99 overall in College Football 26. Smith is the first 99 overall since EA Sports relaunched its college football franchise, as Colorado wide receiver/cornerback and Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter led all players as a 98 overall in College Football 25.

Smith and Alabama wide receiver Ryan Williams are cover stars on the standard cover of College Football 26. The pair of pass catchers are also on the deluxe edition cover with Ryan Day, Caleb Downs and more.

In an interview with Fox Sports' Michael Cohen, Smith called his selection as an EA Sports cover athlete an honor.

"It's something that you dreamed of," Smith said. "But to actually think you would be a cover athlete, and then it actually happened, it's something crazy, for sure."

Smith hauled in 76 receptions for 1,315 yards and 15 touchdowns in 2024, shattering all of Ohio State's freshman receiving records and helping lead the Buckeyes to a national championship. He collected 381 receiving yards and five touchdowns in four College Football Playoff games.

As Smith looks ahead to the 2025 season, he admits that winning a Heisman Trophy is on his mind, but more than that, a second straight national championship for the Buckeyes.

"I definitely want to win it," Smith said. "But I’m just all about the team first. I just want to win that big one, that national championship. That’s all I really care about. We’ve gotta repeat and win it again."
