Anyone have experience with military schools, either putting a kid in one or attending yourself? What are the positive and negative experiences?

I'm just kicking around the idea....and trying to gather information. This would be for a 7th-8th grade boy.....who's very headstrong and extraordinarily disrespectful. My wife and I are at a complete loss of what to do (we've tried for years, and it seems to be getting worse) and I'm concerned what he's going to be grow into as an adult.

I feel only a drill instructor will be able to get thru to him.
