Hello my fellow Buckeyes, I want to open a discussion on Parkinson's Disease, who has it, and How are You living with it. I was diagnosed 2.5 years ago after a Neuro visit about weather to have a Full knee replacement, or a Neuro Blockage, I was at the Neurology offices at OSU waiting after my exam when the Nurse came out, and told me Doctor Peck wanted to see me, I followed her back to the exam room, and sat down, I no longer sat down when the Doc came in with my chart in his hand, he looked at me, and said I have no other way to tell you this so here goes, He said "YOU HAVE PARKINSON'S" I went wait, WHAT !
The Doc went on to tell me, I can lead a productive life, but not without repercussions, so I listened to him for almost an hour explaining to me about cause and effect, needless to say my heart rate did not slow for a solid week, as I came home and read every internet article I could find about this disease, and Doc was right, I did not have my first problem until last summer, I woke up as normal, and made me a cup of coffee to greet the sunrise, and walked out to my sunroom to watch, as I pulled my chair out, my hand holding my coffee cup began to shake, and with each passing moment the shakes increased, till I dropped the cup and it shattered on the patio, I sat there and just watched my hand shake like in a trance, the shaking just stopped after about 30 minutes, and thus began my journey, since that time, I have had to fight a black depression, and the terrible agony accompanied by muscular distension (muscles going rigid), and still the shakes, always the shakes, my question is HOW ARE YOU DOING ? I AM NOT FOR SUPPORT GROUPS, BUT MORE OF A SINGULAR SUPPORT ENTITY, If their is ANY support you need, perhaps that support could come from one Parkinson's patient to another.
TELL ME YOUR STORY...…. WE ARE ALL BUCKEYES HERE !
