As I write this, I'm in my house rental in Honolulu. My wife is still asleep. I am pondering the start of the HURT 100 in a little over two hours and wondering what I will go through trying to get through 100 miles, 25,000 feet of climbing, rainforest, rocks, roots, and mud in under 36 hours.
It appears I'm starting this thing with a case of bronchitis. You may wonder why I'd do it then. All I can say is I didn't train and fly out here to sit on my ass and hack in a law chair overlooking the ocean.
Most responses to this will be while I'm doing my thing. I'm just asking to throw enough good vibes my way that I feel them all the way out here on the trail. The finish rate on this thing is less than 40 percent. I need all the help I can get.
Maholo.
