For the record. If the story is true, it would be a sad state of affairs surrounding the U of L program. Some of us still hold on to the concept of student athletes. Silly me.

Sources close to the team tell WDRB News that junior linebacker James Hearns and sophomore linebacker Henry Famurewa were shot at a party at the apartment near the university.

Hearns, a native of Tallahassee, Fla, led the Cardinals this year with eight sacks and 11 tackles for loss. Famurewa, a Powder Springs, Ga., native, appeared in nine games and finished the regular season with 10 tackles and two sacks.

Students who live in the area say there was a party to watch Lamar Jackson win the Heisman Trophy when it happened.
