I have been in Phoenix, Az. for the last three weeks for work, and will be for the short term foreseeable future.  Since I don't know if I will ever be back out this way again, I have taken to trying to take in as much as I possibly can.  Last weekend I finally got to see the Grand Canyon, and (against common sense and NPS advice) hiked top to bottom and back up in one day.  Next weekend, since I will have both Saturday and Sunday off, I am getting  rental car, and making the trek to Vegas.  I do plan on playing some low stakes poker, but what all is there to see/experience in a 2.5 to 3 day span?  Also trying to keep the price of lodging as cheap as possible since I am the only one who is making this voyage.  Any help is appreciated.
