UNLV, Ohio State's Week 4 opponent this season, lost a stunner to Howard University on Saturday night.

The Rebels fell to the FCS school at home, 43-40, despite being a 45-point favorite entering the contest.

Howard, which finished the 2016 season with a 2-9 record in the FCS, was led by quarterback Caylin Newton, who accounted for 330 yards of total offense and three touchdowns on the night. Newton is the younger brother of Carolina Panthers star quarterback Cam Newton.

The Rebels are set to take on Idaho in their second game of the season Sept. 9 before a bye week leading up to their matchup with the Buckeyes in Columbus on Sept. 23.
