Could the University of Chicago be coming back to the Big Ten as a Division One football team?

Well, according to the admissions page, the answer is yes. Until you realize that the URL contains "April Fools" in it.

This article, though, isn't without its golden moments. Headlined by "Economics students believe they hold key to make team great again," I think my favorite quote comes right here:

“Football is all about economics—it’s efficiency in play calling and decision making, and recruiting is pure supply and demand,” said graduate student Alonso Bumgardner. “Just as [Prof. Steven] Levitt was able to determine the best strategies for penalty kicks in soccer, we’re confident that our analyses will produce unbeatable passing routes, blitz packages, blocking schemes, and recruitment classes.”

I'm not very knowledgeable about economics, but a hat tip to the people over at U Chicago for putting this one together.
