FIU Does Not Want to Play North Carolina, Thank You

The Ohio State basketball home opener is in a bit of doubt all of a sudden.

Florida International athletic director Pete Garcia and new basketball coach Isiah Thomas are crying foul over a switcheroo for their season opener. After publicizing their opening matchup with Ohio State last month, the Golden Panthers were caught off guard by a North Carolina press release that listed FIU as the Tar Heels' opening matchup.

The Gazelle Group, which organizes the Coaches vs. Cancer tournament, claims to have a contract stipulating that FIU would either play the Buckeyes or the Tar Heels in the first round of the tourney, but FIU isn't exactly feeling that:

"We will not be bullied into a unilateral decision to play North Carolina after we already agreed to play Ohio State," Garcia said.

Should be fun to watch this play out. Thomas, as many of you know, is a man of impeccable character, so all fault must be on the Gazelle Group's end, right?
