Jimmy Johnson

On the Fox postgame show this evening, the crew did their best to talk up Florida's chances when asked what they thought about the upcoming BCS Championship game. Jimmy Johnson lead things off by explaining that a really long layoff can sometimes help an underdog because they have so much time to prepare. Howie kind of waffled before Bradshaw broke in talking about how Florida was such a good young team. Finally, Johnson came back to his senses and said, "Yeah, but Troy Smith is a special player," to which Bradshaw could only come back with something about Chris Leak.

Memo to NFL GMs: This man may be the best evaluator of football talent to have ever walked the earth. I know you're going to be tempted to take a "numbers" guy in the draft: a guy that's tall, has a great vertical, can throw up a ton of weight or can tear up the Wonderlic test. That's fine. We look forward to about 15 years of I-told-you-so posts.
