sure I can make that a sticky...didn't know there was one to be honest
Thanks!

No offense to January visits, but hopefully most of the class is locked up by end of December.I know, wishful thinking, but would be nice.Know we have to hold a few spots for undecideds.
SCOTTC.
If it's like last year, you'll see several "backup plans" scheduling visits in January, and several of them will probably end up cancelling if the positions are already filled.
EDIT: I'm not saying every recruit who is scheduled for January is a backup plan.
If we waste a scholarship on Corn Elder I'll be very disappointed. Football isn't even his #1 desire. That's the reason he is only considering schools that will let him play both. I'd much rather have Timmons.
that is actually a misconception...Corn certainly is exploring the option of playing both, but he's not ONLY looking at schools who will let him play both as Thad Matta hasn't even said yes or no to it yet...he knows football is his future
To be honest with you, couldn't disagree more. Even if he is partially considering basketball, once he gets on campus as a commit it'll be a done deal--it was with Pryor. Basketball will be forgotten given the amount of hours football is going to require from him.
And to me, aside from Quick, Elder is the most dynamic offensive player we're still in on. His highlight film shows elite speed + acceleration, top-notch track speed. We need those kinds of dynamic playmakers in Urban's offense. I want him on the team bad, personally.
Thank you Alex
when is timmons coming, i have read in the newspaper and on various web sites he is taking an ov in january
Question: When is LOI day this year? First week of February?
"It's just another case of there you are". ~ Doc (1918-2012)
Feb 6th I believe.
typically first wednesday I believe, which is the 6th
Sorry Urban, Woody is still my favorite
Yes Buckeyestu I read where they set up his OV on January 11 when they visited him last week. Maybe they pulled back? I heard in the past 2 weeks over a dozen schools paid him a visit. Plus Joker is looking at him for UF. He is sitting well no matter what.
Alex was Gibsons visits scheduled by him or the coaches? I didn't know if the coaches scheduled his visit late for a reason rather than him coming up this weekend?
I think the visit was scheduled for January to make sure all grades came through from his first semester in high school
updated
Thank you Alex, how about Dawson since he cancelled his visit this coming wknd, did he reschedule the OV?
not rescheduled yet...wouldn't be completely shocked if it ever is...
My thoughts exactly. I saw "change of plans" and immediately thought that, regardless of the reason, he's not going to visit.
Jalin Marshall OV on Jan 11
Any truth to the rumors that Kenny Lacy will be visiting Jan. 11th as well? Seems like the staff is expanding the offers and efforts for 2013 OL.
I think I saw that Corey Smith committed to Ole Miss. Does this mean he won't be visiting?
Mississippi State, wasn't it?
Yes, I was just about to correct that.
updated...Corey Smith tentative for 1/18...let's see if it happens
When do all of the all-star games take place? Shouldn't we pretty much know the rest of the class by January?
US Army game is January 5th, Under Armour game is January 4th, so I'd say you're correct. That is, unless some guys wait till Signing Day to announce, which is February 6th.
Wish they could get Lacy here sooner...
delete!
On the ESPN article about Lacy coming to OSU for a visit they listed P Johnny Townsend as one who will be taking his official as well over the weekend of Jan 11-13
added Dawson 1/18
Obviously OSU is going after one more Olineman in this class. Should be interesting to see if Dawson or Lacy pull the trigger. Would have to change my last 6 or 7 spots to 1. Lacy/Dawson, 2. Gibson, 3. Worley 4. Trey Johnson, 5. Mitchell, 6. Bell and 7. Quick/or a surprise as Alex has hinted to previously if that comes to fruition. I expect one more spot to open up before all is said and done bc of attrition of some sort. Making it 26 scholarships...we'll see I guess.

I like your list, but I am not confident about Bell or Quick. I'd like to have them both, but not sure if they will be Buckeyes.
Really hope we see Vonn Bell's name in the 1/11 spot as rumored after his game last night... Hopefully Alex can find a credible source for these rumors (maybe even from Vonn himself)...
Updated for the Vonn Bell tentative...Miles working on confirming with his coach
updated for Dylan Wiesman and Kyle Berger on 1/11 weekend
Marcelys jones coming 1/13
Alex, could Marcelys be our 1st 2014 commit? I remember seeing the other day a tweet saying he almost committed. Any thoughts?
could be, but still thinking Dante Booker Jr.....won't be shocked if Lonnie Johnson is mid-February and Jones could definitely follow, but he is a Glenville kid and they usually wait
Glad he didn't
Up vote to B_P for predicting the future
Tom Crean listens to Nickelback...
Lucky guess but I'll take it!
Just wondering if this James Hearns visit is just for fun for him or is there actual interest? He has been a solid commit for the gators but is there a flip waiting to happen?
BOOOOOOM
The coaches wouldn't have him on an OV if they didn't have some idea that he was at least open to consideration. he could lie to them, but Urban and co. have been doing this for a long time, they have the savvy to know.
I can't imagine a kid from Florida would want to make a trip to Columbus in January if he wasn't actually interested in the program and hearing what Coach Meyer has to say.
^ this, not like he's going to California or Hawaii
According to Allen Treiu Damon Webb will be visiting the weekend of Jan 11th also.
Damon Webb will visit on the 11 ~13!
Updated
I know this is for January but thought I'd post it here anyways:
'14 GA WR Demarre Kitt visiting Feb 10. Also names OSU co-leader with Clemson.
http://ohiostate.247sports.com/Article/Ohio-State-Is-Now-The-Co-Leader-For-Demarre-Kitt-108495
^Good to hear, Hayze!
Also not that it necessarily makes a big difference, but I like that Corn Elder and Vonn Bell (both from Tennessee) are visiting on the same weekend. Could facilitate one of those "would be cool to play together!" conversations.
No problem!
I honestly think that if we have room/want Elder, he's in the class.
I hope we have room for him even if we get Quick and Gibson.
Happy new year all! Updated for Worley
Nick Chubb (2014 RB from GA) is planning on visiting OSU January 10.
Link (ESPN $)
Dante Sawyer already booked his flight :)
Start lining up the Georgia kids now
His is in February though right? He was among the group visiting with McMillan, Watson, Kitt, Autry, etc.?
Correct they will all be in attendance that weekend Feb 10th I believe.
Never said a date, just seen he booked a flight next month, but the 10th sounds logical
added Joey Bosa for 1/11
added Winton Woods 2014 DT Daniel Cage for next weekend
No James Hearns. Told Miles his visit was cancelled. Assuming on the heels of Mitchell and Johnson committing.
Hopefully we turn the heat on Lattimore.. A lot of time left but I'd love to seal that up early
Lattimore might drag out his recruitment to get attention for teammates like previously seen by other Glenville players such as Marcus Hall. Jones might have decided he needed to commit in order to secure his spot in the class, while Lattimore will have a spot saved for him no matter what. Just a hunch, nothing more.
Maybe. Maybe not. Jones committed early.
It'd be nice to wrap this '13 class up by Sunday.
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
Has there been any info/update on Gibson's meeting with the coaches after the AA game?
Alex, I saw that Dylan Wiesman committed to Tennessee a couple of days back. Is his visit this weekend still on?
guessing that is not happening thanks
adding Eric Smith of Glenville (2014)
trying to clarify Chubb's visit if it's Jan or Feb as well
Chubb moved to 2/8-2/10
Darius West tentative for this weekend
Corey Smith coming this weekend
@Alex... Can you give a percentage or some type of guess to the possibility of flipping Corey Smith now that Quick is headed to L'ville?
That's good to hear....was wondering if he was going to make a visit after committing to Miss St. Hope he flips....would be great. Mysterious guy that Mr. Smith;-)

I am torn on this one, on the one hand a JUCO transfer could provide some immediate firepower to our offense, but I am still hoping somehow to see what Timmons can do in Scarlet and Gray.
Urban has hired Mother Nature as Head of Warm Welcomes. She's rolling out the 50 and 60 degree temps to help our friends from the south feel at home.
Please get Timmons!
I believe the playmakers in order of priority are:
Gibson
Smith
Elder
Timmons
I like Timmons a lot and think he would fit really well in this offense, but I don't see it happening. I actually think Gibson gives a silent verbal and Smith flips leaving Elder and Timmons out of this class.
60 degrees in Columbus in mid January is not going to hurt this weekend's efforts at all.
"It's just another case of there you are". ~ Doc (1918-2012)
You guys, it is REALLY nice down here on campus today. Hopefully there are some gray boxes on Sunday evening or Monday morning...
Help is on the way.
Bell, Gibson, Elder & Cam Hunt, & I'd be a happy Buck-fan
Timmons visit cancelled---my bet by the staff
You think the staff may haven gotten a silent verbal from Gibson or believe they're going to flip Smith?
Wasnt cancelled by staff. Staff trying to get him up tomorrow I was told. Incredible.
That's disappointing, but it's not hard to see why Timmons cancelled if you're right. He isn't really a need for the team as much as a traditional WR, but he just looked like he would be great for OSU if he got a committable offer.
I don't buy that for one second.. Guy works his butt off for months and months to get an offer and then the day before his OV (which he was told was when he would be offered) he suddenly changes his mind? His camp can spin it however they please, but we all know he was told there won't be an offer this weekend. He may have technically been the one to cancel the visit, but only because of whatever news the staff told him
Does it really matter who cancelled the visit? The end result is that the young man will not be a part of this team, barring some unforeseen circumstances. To continue the debate as to who cancelled is not fair to either Mr. Timmons or the Coaching staff.
You just made me want to downvote myself.. lol that was very well said. You're right
Is vonn bell on campus? Haven't heard anything about him with all the Timmons /Worley excitement going on...
Yes Vonn and family are on campus last I heard they were in Easton Im assuming with Pantoni since he loves going there.
FWIW, TOS is suggesting that the Robinson twins may be visiting (or looking to visit) tOSU. Staff- anything to this? They sounded pretty solid yesterday when the news first broke about Chip.
It would be nice if they did... One could play WR and the other could play S if we miss on Bell.
Sounds like Wilson and Robinson twins are visiting Jan. 25th.
Updated for Wilson and the Robinsons
I'm getting pumped about those Oregon commits...getting at least Wilson would be solid. Doubt the twins jump aboard...but it'd be a lot cooler if they did.

Sounds like the Robinson's are off for this weekend and won't be visiting. Is Priester still visiting (I heard he committed to Clemson)? Hopefully it's not too cold for Wilson, who I know is still planning on coming.
It's pretty cold in Oregon during football season too. I can't see the weather as a factor. I'd like for us to pick up either Wilson, Clark, or Timmons. If we miss on Bell, I say we give his scholly to one of those playmakers. So, we could end up with 1 more OL and 2 WR's. Not sure what the staff wants to do tho.
It almost never snows in Eugene. Rains all the time, but very rarely below freezing temps, even in the winter. I'm not saying weather will be a factor, but it's been really cold in cbus this week.
Cold and wet versus cold and dry... I'll take Columbus all day...
updated
Did Lauderdale ever make it on campus? If he did, how did his visit go?
james clark solid this weekend
Added Kyle Trout for this weekend
Any chance Kyle leaves with an offer this weekend Alex?
Yessir
And a commit?
Hate to bring up Timmons because we talk about him so much, but 247 is saying he has an important decision to make this weekend. Is he thinking about visiting OSU or UF?
He is deciding whether to take his official next weekend to OSU or Florida. He also said that if it's Florida he can still drive up to OSU one last time before committing.
unstickied as January is sadly over after today
