Thats because the last few years we would go run (2 yards), run (minus 1 yard), pass (incomplete), 3 and out, punt and repeat this process until 2 minutes left of each half or unless we got a turnover, we then would make sure we got in field goal position.
I was hoping we wouldn't need a punter very much this year. I know the punt has been the meat and potatoes of our offense the last 10 years but I'm hoping that is a thing of the past.

If you saw any of LSUs games this year, especially the first one against Alabama, you'd know Tressel was right. A good punter is a great weapon for putting you defensive playmakers where they can do serious damage.
Yeah you should always fill your punter quota before recruiting guards. Weird.
Makes sense to me... we aren't really hurting for gaurds and most of are targets will probably wait for us to offer (2nd tier)... I don't know what the caliber of punters is this year though

exactly Rampage....I'm not sure what punters they are targeting, but room is tighter in this class and they'd rather add tackles
It is just a slow play to see what guys higher on the board are going to do first.
If Khaliel Rodgers wants to commit, I don't think he'll be asked to wait until we're set at punter.
Interesting..figure punters can be found via walk-ons/preferred walk-ons, saving a scholarship
Meyer has the same level of importance on ST as JT did. He'll fill his specialist spots with the best guys he can get.

EPi could be the punter for a year or two. I think that would be a great idea... I thought Basil was a very good punter?
