There are a lot of assumptions being made, it could just be that this was a coincidence.  This is what I hate about recruiting over half a class before they even play their senior year in high school.  Guys are going to go back on their verbals.  Other coaches, like Kelly, are going to be in their ear non stop until signing day. 

Shame there isn't an early signing period in college football. 

Okay...so a guy de-commits become some creeper was talking to them...sounds weird.....he wants to go to the school, loves Urban, loves everything and then this happens....seems like a small thing when you consider everything else....weird....I'm done with recruiting!

I would say he is gone. He would not have to decommit to think things over. He could have stayed committed and checked out his options unless Urban said that if you make other visitations you are off the team. Irricoir's comments about character and standing by your word are starting to ring true. I hope Urban does not take these two back.

That's what I'm saying Jason, I think the timing is a coincidence.  Something is going on. Heuerman decided not to commit, Neal decommitted, then this with Anzalone.  Maybe there is something else at play here.  Being a program.  Also, the tweet from Pantoni said anything can be a recruiting violation, even meals. I have a couple of thoughts.

1) perhaps there is some bad news in the works that some other violations have been found and they are letting the kids know now.(Hope not)

2) Maybe this perve actually gave the recruits improper benefits and they are no longer allowed to come to Ohio State since Ohio State is on probation and can't have any funny business going on, whether they know about it or not.

I have a strong feeling Meyer's reaction to stuff like this will be the sort of thing Harry Truman would order to end a war. This dude won't be allowed within miles of Ohio State Football-and rightfully so. Some people just think they can insert themselves into something that doesn't want or need their participation. I'm also wondering if his parents heard about the creeper and said "hell no you are not going to that school." the violations are another possibility. Being the creeper he is he may have paid for who knows what. Drinks for minors, food, could be anything.

First and foremost, it sucks that some fuckhead on twitter is a pedophile and got involved in these kid's lives.  I hope everyone is OK, and this fuckhead is dealt with accordingly.

That being said, the opposing B1G football programs are scared b/c Urban Meyer and Ohio State joined forces.  They know what's coming, and are trying everything to impede the ensuing football dominance.  Like Jim Tressel, Urban Meyer is going to be responsible for other B1G coaches getting fired.  

I'd give urban a B- right now. He's reopened the boarders and now this. Tressel's operation was much better. We are getting away from what we've been and that's winning the big ten, going to the rose bowl, and most especially beating Michigan. None of these seem to be a priority with meyer, let's face it Michigan is back because we lost our guy.

I don't care about losing a recruit because Urban will get more quality players. My only concern is how this will affect our probation if recruiting violations happened by the pedo guru. I want to be competing for a national championship next season and as long as we don't have a longer bowl ban if something happened we should be just fine.

AA had direct contact with this creep while on his trip at Ohio State, and it is documented via a twitter picture.  He didn't have direct contact with someone at Penn State. 

A person close to the program over at bp, said in the rumor mill that Anzalone's decommitment had nothing to do with the pervert.

Alex (Our 11W Alex) has already said this is 100% about the creeper.

If that's why he decommitted it's rather ridiculous, but if he follows it up by committing to penn st. my head will explode.

Unfortunately, I think this means we lose Bosa. And I REALLY don't want that to happen, but I wouldn't be shocked if we do.

I think that some sort of violation occured with that derranged fan buying them drinks/food or something, and Urban doesn't want to risk more sanctions. That's the most plausible explanation so far. It would make sense. Remember when there was a lot of buzz about Heuerman moving up his commitment and he was supposedly all-Buckeye. But then he didn't, and ended up at ND instead. Maybe those things are related?

You will see Alex playing ball at either Florida, USC, Notre Dame, Penn State or Stanford. I wish him the best.

Here's to hoping that he gets thrown in jail where he belongs and can get the harsh "treatment" he deserves.

His father, Sal Anzalone, has done more harm than good for this kid. All of the national media attention this kid is getting in light of a pedo getting a picture with him, has to be embarassing. Unless he's the next James Laurinaitus, for awhile he will be remembered as "the recruit who had his pic with that pedo loser". Good job, dad

Difficult situation, but I hope AA is a Buckeye in the end.  He is a talent.

If anyone was wondering how UFM would handle adversity - this is a great sign...This statement being recanted by Dr. Anzalone is a direct result of PR damage control done by Coach Meyer. It's really not important whether Alex Anzalone comes to OSU or goes to UF...It's important that UFM put OSU first & is trying to stop the negative spin.

After reading some of the articles about this story it sounds like anzalone is using this excuse to back out of a decision he wasn't quite sure of. It appears that his dad lives his life for him and makes all his decisions for him. If this kid seriously decommits bc of this then we really don't want this pansy on our team. There was no way Ohio state could avoid this issue. Unfortunately there are crazy people everywhere. Picking another college isn't going to protect you from the bad people. Best of luck to you kid. Hope one day u make your own decisions for yourself and not let daddy decide your future.

Is it true that Florida is Sal Anzalone's alma mater? If so, perhaps his father has wanted him to go to there all along.
