According to Gary H at Bucknuts Courtney Love is not making the trip to Columbus. I had info from a pretty solid source that he was definitely in this class but it seems now he will be a Cornhusker. Good player, good kid but on to the next one. Perhaps opens the door for Tim Kimbrough to hopefully join Alex Anzalone ;)
well crap.. Would have liked him, but still early enough to bring in some good players. I wouldn't mind Kimbrough being the guy if Urban likes him. I would also love it if we put some pressure on McCray lol we can see those ttun fans get a little angry
I'd take McCray over Kimbrough. One because I like him better and also because it steals one from Michigan:) but I honestly think if Urban had a week with him I think he could be flipped.
Also wouldn't be too upset if we can't land Jaylon Smith if we just call it a LB class after Anzalone
Sorry Urban, Woody is still my favorite
I said that something didn't seem right with Love's recruitment. Guess it's a Youngstown thing with Pellini.
I have to think the staff ended that one as Love was ALL Buckeye and even said they were his leader by far.
I would agree, JD. Definitely not Love's call (at least not 100%).
@Triv...you stop that! Bad!!! You deserve some soap in your mouth for kind of talk. I don't see anyone flip from Michigan to OSU, but he'd make the most sense, being a legacy and all.
Those who stay will be CHAMPIONS!

@Hail, and the fact he's Burrows teammate in high school
Favorite Buckeye: Obviously BJ Mullens
Regarding McCray, I was disappointed that he didn't get an offer. I'm not saying he's better or worse than Love or that he fits one system better than another. I think the talent level was similar enough that the son of a former Buckeye captain should've been offered.
Regarding the LB situation in general, I think Kalambayi is a name we'll start hearing more about.
Haha hail You know as well as I do if OSU offered he was a buckeye. While it may take some work now, he is definitely the most flippable
Sorry Urban, Woody is still my favorite
I agree if he got the offer originally, but 2 things: Trotwood Madison has been a bit of a Michigan pipeline lately and by not getting the OSU offer has left a chip on his shoulder, perhaps.
Must likely candidate, but won't happen IMO

Keep in mind Cam Burrows is also at Trotwood Madison.. Thats around-the-clock recruiting lol. He may not even be pursued, but we'll see what happens if Love picks Nebraska
@Hail I tend to agree with you about McCray. I really do wish he was offered especially being a legacy, and a great player in his own right. A good get for you guys right now. That said if anyone is going to flip, especially out of He and Thomas, I think its him. Legacy, Cam Burrows, Life long fan an hour or so from Columbus. If he gets an offer a lot of Ohio State heat will be thrown his way.
I don't know that either guy will flip but Thomas is more likely than McCray to me. Thomas wasn't offered by the previous staff while McCray wasn't offered by this staff. Meyer showed Thomas interest immediately and if he comes to visit his cousin he will fall in love with this place. I would think McCray would be too bitter from the lack of an offer earlier to consider us.
You realize that OSU and Michigan are basically equal when it comes to what they bring to the table, right? He's already hooked on blue, Mattison, and his future roommate, Morris. Thomas is staying put.

We are gonna beat Michigan's ass so let him stay! He'll regret that decision.
Tough times never last, tough people do
No, I don't see them as equal. That's why I am on an Ohio State board. I like them a lot more. I think the players will realize which team will be competing for a National Championship for years to come and which team will be September winners and then fall apart...
@Hail
Completely disagree with you about tOSU and TSUN being equal when it comes to what they bring to the table. One has a rock star coach with a 104-23 W-L record, .819 winning percentage, and 7-1 in bowl games w/ 2 NC’s. The other has “uncle Fred” with an ordinary record of 58-52 and a winning percentage of .527 and 0 NC. If you were a recruit with common sense, who would you rather play for?
Those who stay wil be .......Diinner!!
Brady Joke
The only thing close to being equal between the two programs is stadium capacity.
How is a program that has no chance of winning a National Championship anytime soon the equal of one who does?
If you ain't a Silver Bullet, you're a target
Wow...looks like everyone is wearing their homer glasses today.

Hurts me to side with Hail, but in Vegas:
Michigan odds to win National Championship: A very large number to 1.
Our odds: Infinity to 1.

the truth shall set you free...

Looking at this rationally, you can't deny that BOTH Ohio State AND Michigan are great schools and great programs with great traditions.
I wouldn't cheer for Michigan if they were playing the Taliban.
Rivals mike just tweeted he heard from a reliable source that Bosa very well may have committed to OSU! This could be huge!!!
^well said, none of us have any idea what the future holds for either team
Yes, I was referring more to things like facilities, history, alumni, fanbase, pro potential...you know, objective things.
Yes, Urban > Hoke, but Mattison and Borges > OSU coordinators
But to be fair, Michigan is to Hoke what Florida was to Meyer (except Hoke will retire from Michigan).
Those who stay will be CHAMPIONS!
~Bo Schembechler
Don't agree with you about the coordinators either. They may not have done it as long but no way would I trade Herman and Fickell for Mattison and Borges. Add in the fact that Warriner and Withers are co-coordinators and this staff is top notch. Buckeye Nation will have "homer glasses" on all day with what we are building right now.
I would probably trade Fickell for Mattison for the next 3-5 years. Guy is a stud and no reason to discount him. Fickell needs some seasoning as a DC since he never even was the head DC before
@Hail -- Urban had a great track record of success prior to Florida. Hoke's credentials weren't nearly that good when he got to Michigan.
Also, the thing about Mattison and Borges can't really be judged yet. The staff is still largely untested here, but have great credentials prior to being hired.
I wouldn't cheer for Michigan if they were playing the Taliban.
Withers is seasoned and I'd take him in a heartbeat, but objectively speaking, 98% of the football world would take Mattison and Borges over Fickell and Herman. I'm sure Urban would agree, at least about Mattison.
Either way, you're happy with your guys and we're happy with our guys. We both win.
Those who stay will be CHAMPIONS!
~Bo Schembechler
@Hail...ok usually I can agree with you on some things but the only reason we know Mattison's name is because of Urban and I don't even know who Borges or however you spell his name is. I will say that Mattison is a verrrryyy good d-coordinator but would I take him over Fickell, a guy who bleeds S & G, it'd be a tough call. However I do think Mattison is one of the best d-coordinators out there. Really only time willl tell how either staff will do the only think we can know with certainty and statistics don't lie is that Urban is a wayyyyy better coach than Hoke.
Nothing new.... Ohio State never gets any "Love" lol
I keep saying it.....Lewis Neal
We may not have Love, but we have Sprinkle!

Curious if anyone has any reliable information here... just because a kid cancels a visit doesn't mean he's commited elsewhere.
With all due respect to everyone, Michigan is every bit Ohio State's equal in every regard, with the exception of the last few years. Brady is loading up, We've got the No. 1 coach in America in Urbs (or 1-A with Saban) — Just get ready for some back-to-back meetings starting soon.
Not really crazy about OSU-Mich meeting in consecutive weeks, except that would mean playing for the Big Ten and BCS.
@Hail - I think I agree with you on Fickell not yet being Mattison's equal, but on Borges, gotta disagree. What has he done? I had no clue who the guy was until he came to Michigan whereas I had heard of Herman because of what he turned Rice into. Herman is considered an up and comer who is an innovative mind that is a great recruiter and developer. His youth and energy are a plus, too. I think most schools would take Herman. I didn't see anything from Borges last year that wowed me.
Hope that means he has given his commitment to Urban and will eventually announce it. Rather than you "feel" like he will be a Buckeye. Not doubting you in any way Alex, just really want this kid and would hate to see him elsewhere. If he is in limbo, Saban would love to swoop in and snatch him from Meyer. Want him all wrapped up and ready for delivery ASAP. Thanks for your work Alex.
