2012 Scottsdale (AZ) Chapparal OT Alex Dickman just told me he received a full scholarship offer from Stan Drayton tonight during an in-home visit. Dickman also said he would not commit yet, but not to be surprised if he does soon, as his mom was a Buckeye. He told me he wasn't sure what was going on with Davonte Neal's visits, but that he wouldn't be surprised at all if he signs with OSU.
Before any of you ask, I DO NOT think this has any impact on Dodson. I actually can't even tell you 100% if this is a committable offer or just a way for Urban to have a Plan B in case something falls through. Or, it may even very well be a legit offer and they think he is a sleeper. Time will tell.
If this kid commits to OSU, you know it's legit. If that never happens, well, he didn't have a committable offer. I can't say much other than what the kid told me. Hope this helps.

This can only mean one thing.. Urban REALLY wants Neal.
If you ain't a Silver Bullet, you're a target
If true they must think he is a major sleeper

So would I 3rdLeg. How that kid isn't a 5-star recruit is beyond me.
vacuuming sucks
Means we either really want Neal, were really thin at tackles and desperate for some depth, or Urban sees a sleeper. In his highlight film he really didn't look like a scholarship tackle (more like a prefered walk-on that could earn one) but maybe Urban sees something that I don't. Obviously I trust his evaluation of talent. Although I do question why he didn't commit tonight considering this is this kids only scholarship offer. I mean on all the recruiting websites he has all the big schools listed and no offers. Did he have any offers from any lower tier schools MAC, WAC, MNW, Con USA...ect?
he has no other offers which is what makes me suspicious....all I can do is report what he told me....still don't think if offered it was a committable offer
There is a article on Bucknuts where he recently just did an interview with University of Miami website and they are showing interest also, so maybe he is grabbing the attention of the big schools.
If the offer is bona fide, I wish Dickman all the success in the world and am glad he is aboard. But absent more information, doesn't this report smack of the Kevin Hart saga a few years back (the kid who claimed he was choosing between Cal and Oregon, yet held no real offers)?

The kid has a pic of himself in an OSU jersey that was taken on campus from all indications.
vacuuming sucks
If it means a package of Neal and Dickman, I'm sure we'd all be thrilled. If it's just Dickman, questions must be asked about whether he's the right choice for what appears to be a limited number of remaining scholarships.
still hearing nothing more than a preferred walk-on....would the kid lie to me and everyone else? perhaps, maybe to try and get more buzz around him so some other schools give an offer.....maybe not and we're all fools for not taking him too seriously
