Sullinger was in full beast mode today.

Thanks for the advice, Bo. How’d we do?

Jon Diebler continued his torrid three point shooting pace, dropping in 27 points on 8/10 FG and 7/8 3FG shooting as the Buckeyes put a thorough 93-65 beatdown on Bo’s Badgers this afternoon in Value City Arena.

Diebler’s unconscious effort on Senior Day was complimented by Jared Sullinger’s 22 points and eight rips, William Buford’s 18 and David Lighty’s 13.

The scorching hot Buckeyes shot 68% for the game and an insane 93% from downtown (14/15 (!)), using big runs to finish the regular season perfect at home.

Two of the game changing runs occurred in the first half of play. Tied up at 11 apiece after a Keaton Nankivil trey at the 14:45 mark, Ohio State answered with a 13-4 spurt featuring seven straight points from Diebler off a four point play via an And-1 triple and another long range bomb on OSU’s ensuing possession. Buford capped the run with a jumper off a Diebler assist to put the Buckeyes in front 24-15 with 8:22 left in the half.

Wisconsin fought back cutting the lead to 26-20 after a Brett Valentyn three at the 6:30 mark but the Buckeyes unleashed another run, this time a 12-3 blitz pushing the lead to 38-23 with 3:29 remaining. Diebler was again in the mix splashing a triple and two free throws while David Lighty and Buford also dropped in treys.

To close the half, the Jon Diebler Show had more act, as he bottomed a three near the top of the circle with :05 left, countering a Jon Leuer putback giving the Buckeyes a healthy 47-32 lead at intermission.

The first half spanking saw OSU outscore the Badgers 20-8 in the paint and control the glass 16-10. The 68% shooting effort was keyed by 4/6 from Diebler (16 pts) and 5/7 from Sullinger (12 pts).

Interestingly, the 47-32 score was the same exact score the Buckeyes had in Madison before the wheels fell off. There would be no déjà vu this time around though Wisconsin tried to make it interesting for about seven minutes. Sideshow Bob, aka Mike Bruesewitz, converted an and-1 to cut the lead to 59-48 at the 12:48 mark but the Buckeyes answered with a 16-2 onslaught to take a 75-50 lead with 7:14 to play. Game over.

Diebler got the final blitz started with a triple after Wisconsin had let a loose ball fall harmlessly out of bounds and dropped another trey after Sullinger hit a pair of layups. Lighty’s fadeaway jumper from the right elbow finished it off.

Josh Gasser led Wisconsin with 17 points while Aaron Craft held Jordan Taylor to eight points on 2/9 shooting. The Badgers were held to 42% from the field and lost the glass 29-24.

The win improves Ohio State to 29-2 overall. With the #1 seed in the B1G tourney already locked up, the Buckeyes play at Noon on Friday. We’ll be on hand with your coverage.

Looks like the Buckeyes' 93.3% from downtown broke a record Drexel had set in 2000.

14 straight is also a record previously held by Niagra (11)

There's no doubt in my mind that we're the best team in the country.  I just love watching the Bucks play this year.

Yep. When Diebler is shooting like he is this week, this team is virtually unbeateable.

Damn, noon on Friday!?  I'll be taking an exam, maybe I can sneak some headphones in.  Listening to the game is worth getting kicked out right?

I hate to say this but I want a National Title for these guys as bad as I wanted the 02 and 06 football teams, and the 92 Basketball team. (not to say I don't want one ever year, I am just calling out the teams that where the most special in my eyes and heart). These guys deserve it and I hope it happens.

Agree, but why do you hate to say it?

As of 2/26/12 (loss against Wisconsin) I am stating that Ohio State will make the 2012 Final Four.

That was an old-fashioned ass-whippin'.

With Threebler as hot as he is right now, it takes a lot of pressure off of a somewhat struggling Sullinger.

22pts 8 rebounds is struggling?

IMO, I don't feel he is playing as well as he was in the early season. Still, he's better than 90% of his opponents. Just my opinion.

Teams are also putting more focus on him. He's getting triple teamed quite often. And yet, still manages to get 2 a lot of the time. I wish he'd kick it back out sometimes when that happens, but I'm not sure he has the room to even do that.

His stats don't say struggling, but he is having to work harder for them.

Now redundant but, NCAA records broken during Buckeyes 3-point barrage.

Did any team in the nation have a better performance than Ohio State today?  Are there any even close?

Only one I can think of is St. John's over Duke.

One of my favorite Buckeye teams ever. Regardless of sport. Perfect mix of youth and experience, talent and role players. I love how unselfish this team is, you can really see them play as a unit. They seem genuinely happy for each others successes. Awesome, awesome team. 9 more wins and they live in Buckeye lore forever.

That.  Was.  Awesome.  Rockin' the scarlet and gray today at the convention and then around this pile-'o-shit for a hotel I'm staying at was fun.  When they were up by 20+points and I knew there wasn't a snowballs chance in hell Wisconsin could even come close to coming back I was still carrying on like a droopy-eyed, no-armed child.

I imagine that Diebler would make a great sniper. His killer instinct has really been on display this past week, eh? Congrats to him for being The B1G player of the week. It's not official yet, but come on...

The television timeout where they zoomed in on the Grinch Who Deals With It then panned out with the students behind him holding up the towels when we were up by 20 or so was effing PRICELESS! And whether they win it all or not, this team is still very special. And they will be the special-est when they win the whole farking thing. Then the nation and media can deal with it. How many football and basketball championships in a row is it for us now? Damn I love being a Buckeye! BWUHAHAHAHAH
