When Ohio State students return to campus within the week, they'll be greeted by the return of an iconic campus landmark, but with a new look.

Ohio State's mirror lake has been closed for nearly two years for renovations following the death of student Austin Singletary, but the fences are finally down, allowing for a clean look at the newly-renovated lake.

From 10tv.com:

The lake now features a soft bottom and gradual slopes, with the shore lined with plants and vegetation, providing both a more natural look and increased safety, after a broken neck was the cause of Singletary's tragic death.

There is also a bench honoring Singletary on the Neil Ave. side of the lake.

The project is completed just in time for the start of Ohio State's autumn semester. Most students will return from summer break this week with campus move-in day slated for Saturday, Aug. 18 and classes beginning on Tuesday, Aug. 21.
