This is the content you need to start your morning. I promise.

Word of the Day: Pellucid.

“WHY WOULD I LEAVE?” We really have no idea what Ohio State's coaching staff is going to look like next year, but we do know that Tony Alford will be on it, despite Brian Kelly's best efforts.

Ohio State running backs coach Tony Alford told The Dispatch on Tuesday night that he turned down an offer by new LSU coach Brian Kelly to join him in Baton Rouge.

...

Alford confirmed that to The Dispatch and explained his decision to stay in Columbus.

"I LOVE it here," he said in a text. "Not like it — LOVE IT!!. Ryan Day is the best coach in the business."

...

"I've got a great room," Alford said. "I've got great kids that I have so much respect and admiration for. I hope that they believe that I give them as much as they give me.

"I'm working with the best head coach in all of college football, and I've got unbelievable kids. Why would I leave?"

Admittedly, I certainly was not the world's biggest Tony Alford Stan when he missed out on like, three consecutive incredible running backs (Zamir White, Kendall Milton, and Bijan Robinson) and then presumably passed on Jahmyr Gibbs.

But an extremely good way to earn my forgiveness is landing two top-100 players in one class and the top running back in the country twice in three years. Also, it helps when you hit an absolute home run with an overweight back that wasn't even among the top-600 prospects in the country.

Also, his room technically produced Ohio State's best linebacker, too. There's gotta be some kind of bonus for that, right?

NO PLAYOFF EXPANSION YET. What seemed like an absolute home run just a few months ago doesn't seem to be happening anytime soon as there's been no decision about potential College Football Playoff expansion.

You don't have to spend a second of your time reading that paper in the first Tweet. As you might imagine, it's just way too many words saying "we agreed on nothing."

Very cool! Extremely good!

HAPPY HOMECOMING! Marcus Freeman's going to get one hell of a welcome to his first season as Notre Dame's head coach next year as the season opener will be a homecoming trip in The 'Shoe against his former team.

Good luck!

There's a solid chance that his first two games as a head coach are a College Football Playoff game and a road matchup against Ohio State.

Best of luck!

In all seriousness, this just became an absolute must-win game for Ryan Day and Ohio State. Buckeye fans were clamoring for Day to hire Freeman as soon as Jeff Hafley left two years ago. Instead, they got a defense that's going to keep them from legitimately competing for a national title for two consecutive seasons.

Can you imagine the reaction if Freeman waltzes into the 'Shoe and beats Ohio State and its like three preseason Heisman Trophy contenders in what would basically be his head coaching debut?

Here's hoping the Buckeyes give him the same homecoming they gave Luke Fickell.

TATE IS GREAT. Basketball season means it's officially time for more Jae'Sean Tate content. And folks, he was absolutely stuffing the stat sheet last night.

At the end of the day, it really shouldn't come as a surprise that a guy from such a noted basketball school like Ohio State would have this kind of success at the next level.

SONG OF THE DAY. "It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas" by Bing Crosby.

NOT STICKING TO SPORTS. A dancing cactus toy that raps in Polish about cocaine goes viral... Barbados officially names Rihanna a national hero... What hot dogs can teach us about number theory... Influencers are sent to prison for over three years after pranking a taxi driver... The medical promise of magic mushrooms... Why movie dialogue has gotten more difficult to understand... Why can’t we travel back in time?...
