ICYMI: The black jerseys that Ohio State will don vs. Penn State leaked last night:

This week's NSFW ANTI-WORK #BANGERS:

TERRY MCLAURIN'S EPIPHANY. Like Joel Hale, WR Terry McLaurin is heading home to his home state Saturday, and it's bringing back some old-school memories.

From Cleveland.com:

"I actually stopped playing (basketball) my freshman year, because I was 5-foot-8 going into my freshman year of high school," McLaurin said. "I thought, there aren't many 5-foot-8 point guards playing in college. So I decided to put that on the backburner."

Ah yes, what has-been athlete among us can't remember that moment in our lives? I remember being on the verge of death and getting cussed at by a middle-aged man with a fat top and saying to myself, "I'm not built like this."

It was all downhill from there.

Thankfully McLaurin had a backup plan. He explained how he came to land in Columbus:

Though Notre Dame is the top program in Indiana, Ohio State has major pull when it comes across a prospect it likes from that state. It helps that the Buckeyes are an elite program, as it can take players from the Hoosiers and Purdue.

Leaving Indiana for Ohio State isn't like leaving home. It's close.

"I feel like every state wants to keep their best in-state guys, but when you have a school like Ohio State knocking and you have the ability to play for a top-program, I feel like, as a competitor, that's what you want," McLaurin said. "You want to play for the best team for the best coaches and have the best competition."

He chose wisely.

HURDLE YOUNG MAN HURDLE. Ezekiel Elliott's new move this year is the hurdle, which is fitting since his mom was a track star at Mizzou. It's a move Elliott made because he's tired of getting hit in the legs by 240-pound men built out of concrete.

From ESPN.com:

“It was not something I really planned, but it was just more of something that just kind of happened because of the way teams have been playing us,” Elliott said. “It seems to be a tendency for opposing defenses to aim for my legs when tackling, and it’s kind of hard to do anything when you’ve got a bunch of guys aiming for your legs. Those aren’t shots you want to take; they’re pretty dangerous.

“I just decided I’m going to try to go up and over some guys, and I’ve definitely seen it working already in games. Guys are just hesitant when they’re trying to tackle me now, and they don’t really want to hit me high. It plays to my advantage.”

More often than not, Elliott already has the advantage thanks to his natural athleticism, his ability to read blocks and a fearless attitude, whether he’s taking on a tackler head-on or jumping over him.

Can't argue with that, though my ACL tingles every time I see Zeke (or Dale) take to the skies.

URBAN'S HEADING INTO DUMPING SEASON. Here's a thing that doesn't get enough play: We're entering Year 4 of Urban Meyer, and OSU has yet to lose a regular season conference game.

From Omaha.com:

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The numbers tell the story for coach Urban Meyer during his time at Ohio State: 24-0.

The Buckeyes are the only team in Big Ten history to win every regular-season conference game three straight seasons, although Minnesota was unbeaten at 12-0-4 from 1933-35. Top-ranked Ohio State’s first crack at extending the streak is Saturday at Indiana.

“That’s the big thing, just getting in guys’ heads that it’s the Big Ten season,” Ohio State linebacker Joshua Perry said. “This is where we start to achieve our goals this year.”

Despite the unblemished Big Ten record under Meyer, the Buckeyes (4-0) have one conference title during the span. In 2012 they were ineligible for the championship game because of NCAA sanctions for violations by former coach Jim Tressel. The following season Michigan State defeated the Buckeyes in the Big Ten championship game.

Ohio State's 2014 title run made me even saltier about that 2012 postseason ban. It would've been Notre Dame vs. Ohio State, and Urban would've put them to sleep.

Let's just move on because life is too short to stress about missed opportunities.

OHIO STATE DON'T PLAY NOBODY. Today in "It's a damn fine time to be a Buckeye."

What more can be said at this point?

TRAVELING TO BLOOMINGTON? Avoid IN-37 into Bloomington due to the thing we all know and hate: Road construction.

From 11W reader Mike:

You may want to pass the word along to Ohio State fans coming to the IU game.  I wasn't sure if anyone had mentioned that IN-37 North of Bloomington is 1 lane in both directions for 10 miles.  It was a 1 hour wait 4 hours before game time 2 weeks ago with Western Kentucky, so I know it will be much worse this week with the Ohio State fans traveling as well.   You may want to get the word out to people traveling to the game.  Find a new route or get there really early.

GO Hoosiers!!!!

Thank you Mike, but that sign-off was rather rude!
