But despite scoring just nine points in the second quarter, the Buckeyes held the lead for the entire quarter, taking a 31-27 lead into halftime.

After Ohio State led by double digits for most of the fourth quarter, Washington went on a 13-2 run to cut the Buckeyes’ lead to four. But the Buckeyes regained control from there as Cambridge and Lemmilä scored the next four points to give Ohio State an eight-point lead with 25 seconds left to play, which Cambridge followed with a pair of free throws to ice the Buckeyes’ victory.

The win was the 500th career win for Ohio State coach Kevin McGuff, who coached at Washington from 2011-13 before becoming the Buckeyes’ coach.

It was Ohio State’s fourth win over a ranked opponent this season, joining victories over No. 21 West Virginia, No. 8 Maryland and No. 10 TCU (all ranks at time of victory).

Ohio State will remain in the Pacific Northwest through the weekend to play Oregon on Sunday. B1G+ will stream Sunday’s game between the Buckeyes and Ducks, which tips off at 3 p.m. in Eugene.
