A big second half led by Jaloni Cambridge propelled Ohio State women’s basketball to its 19th win of the season.

After suffering their third loss of the year vs. Iowa on Sunday, the Buckeyes (19-3, 8-2) earned an 81-58 home win over Wisconsin (13-9, 5-6) to get back in the win column on Thursday.

Cambridge led the Buckeyes with 29 points, scoring 21 of those points after halftime, to turn a one-point game at halftime into a 23-point win for the scarlet and gray.

As has been a too-common trend for Ohio State in recent games, the Buckeyes got off to a slow start, allowing the Badgers to take an early 18-9 lead. The Buckeyes responded with a 16-5 run to take their first lead of the game, 25-23, midway through the second quarter. Ohio State scored just four points in the final five minutes of the first half, but held Wisconsin to five points in that same span to take a 29-28 lead into the break.

The game stayed tight until Cambridge caught fire late in the third quarter. With the game tied 42-42, Cambridge scored eight straight points. After three more points from each team, Cambridge scored another 10 consecutive points between the end of the third quarter and the start of the fourth quarter to extend Ohio State’s lead to 63-45. The Buckeyes continued to pull away from there, allowing them to take their starters out early and get their reserves playing time in the final minutes.

Cambridge was one of three double-digit scorers for the Buckeyes. Elsa Lemmilä had her second career double-double as she scored 14 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, while Chance Gray scored 10.

Ohio State will look to earn its 20th win of the season when it hosts Nebraska at the Schottenstein Center on Sunday (6 p.m., BTN).
