Junior defenseman Lauren Boyle entered last week’s series with a season sum of three points. She exited the series with eight. (That's a difference of five points for the arithmetically challenged.) The monster output earned her the Second Star of the Week from the NCAA and Offensive Player of the Week honors from the WCHA.

Boyle helped engineer the game winning goal in Friday’s comeback victory. She factored in four of the Bucks’ five scores on Saturday. The Eden Prairie, Minnesota native netted two goals - the game tying tally and the final insurance marker - and assisted on another pair of scores.

And she still took care of business on the defensive side of things. Boyle was on ice for only one goal against all weekend and finished with a +4 rating. She was also part of the Buckeye penalty kill crew which went 3-for-4 in the series.

Boyle becomes the fifth different Buckeye to earn individual accolades in 2017-18. Collectively those five women own eight conference and two national laurels. Here are some highlights from last week plus an interview with the woman of the hour.

No. 5/6 Ohio State is back in action this week. The Bucks (9-2-1, 7-2-1-1 WCHA) travel to Bemidji for a battle with the Beavers (5-7-1, 3-5-0-0 WCHA). Following the series the team will be halfway through its conference slate, having faced each WCHA opponent once.
