In fact, the original motivation for this series was to counteract the hot-takery so prevalent in modern sports coverage. And yet, earlier this week, my comments on the Dubcast resonated within Kirk Herbstreit's favorite portion of the OSU fan base when I described my feelings while re-watching last weekend's Purdue tape.
It's time to expand on what I meant by that, however, which is the focus of this week's video. The problems with Ohio State's offensive line extend beyond a single position, despite what many wish to be the case, and the consistent breakdowns along the unit that continue to occur week after week may ultimately prove to be the Achilles' heel of a potential championship squad.
Here's what we go over in this week's video breakdown:
- Issues with combination blocks show a lack of practice and chemistry
- Purdue's movement up front flummoxed OSU early in the game
- Executional errors also showed up in pass protection
- The OSU passing game was dangerous enough to overcome these issues
