Arvell Reese and Sonny Styles solidified their stock as the NFL draft’s top two linebackers at the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine.
Both former Ohio State linebackers ran the 40-yard dash in official times of 4.46 seconds, tying for the fastest time among all linebackers at this year’s NFL Scouting Combine.

Making matters even more impressive, both linebackers weighed in above 240 pounds on Thursday. Styles measured in at 6-foot-5 and 244 pounds and Reese measured in at 6-foot-4 and 241 pounds, giving both of them rare combinations of size and speed. Their 4.46-second 40 times are tied for the 11th-fastest among all linebackers weighing in at 240 or more pounds at the NFL Combine since 2000.
Styles also posted a 43.5-inch vertical jump and an 11-foot-2 broad jump, both of which ranked as the best mark among all linebackers at this year’s NFL Scouting Combine. His vertical jump was the second-best ever for a linebacker at the combine while his broad jump was the fourth-best among all linebackers at the combine, putting him in the conversation for the best combine performance ever for a linebacker.
Sonny Styles is a LB prospect in the 2026 draft class. He scored an unofficial 10.00 RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 1 out of 3215 LB from 1987 to 2026.

Reese didn’t do the broad and vertical jumps at the combine, choosing to save those drills for Ohio State’s March 25 pro day, but both linebackers also went through a full set of position drills with the rest of the linebackers at the combine and stood out among their peers in that setting as well, solidifying themselves as likely top-10 overall picks in the 2026 NFL draft.
If they’re selected in the top 10, they’ll become just the fourth and fifth Ohio State linebackers all-time to be top-10 overall draft picks, joining Tom Cousineau (No. 1 in 1979), A.J. Hawk (No. 5 in 2006) and Jim Houston (No. 8 in 1960).
