Ohio State has reached 1,000 wins*.

With its 48-10 win over UCLA, the Buckeyes now have 1,000 all-time victories — including the 12 the NCAA vacated from the 2010 season as a result of “Tattoogate.”

Ohio State’s 1,000 wins* rank second in NCAA history behind Michigan (1,020). The Buckeyes and the Wolverines are the only two programs in college football to reach the milestone. Michigan football started in 1879, 11 years before Ohio State’s first game in 1890.

With Michigan and Ohio State at No. 1 and No. 2 in all-time wins, Alabama, Notre Dame and Texas round out the top five in the high 900s. Oklahoma, Penn State, Nebraska, Georgia and USC complete the top 10 in the low 900s and high 800s.

While Michigan holds the edge in total victories, Ohio State ranks No. 1 in all-time winning percentage at .721 (including the 12 vacated wins — it’s .718 without them). Alabama, Michigan, Notre Dame and Boise State round out the top five, with Oklahoma, Texas, USC, Penn State and Nebraska completing the top 10.
