Ohio State’s Oct. 11 road game at Illinois will be its second Big Noon game of the season.
Next weekend’s game between the Buckeyes and Fighting Illini in Champaign will be FOX’s game of the week and will kick off at noon ET (11 a.m. local time at Illinois), the Big Ten announced Monday.

Ohio State previously played in FOX’s Big Noon game in Week 1, when the Buckeyes hosted Texas at Ohio Stadium. It’s expected that FOX will televise at least two more Ohio State games this season, as Ohio State’s Nov. 1 game against Penn State is expected to be a noon game on FOX while its Nov. 29 game at Michigan is already confirmed to be a noon game on FOX.
If Illinois beats Purdue this weekend, next weekend’s game at Illinois’ Gies Memorial Stadium will be a battle of ranked opponents. The Fighting Illini are ranked 22nd in this week’s AP Top 25, climbing back up the rankings as they bounced back from their 63-10 loss to Indiana with a 34-32 win over USC to improve to 4-1 on the season.
Ohio State, currently ranked No. 1 in the polls, will look to improve to 5-0 this week as it hosts Minnesota in a 7:30 p.m. game (NBC) at Ohio Stadium this Saturday.
Next week’s game will be the first battle for the Illibuck since 2017, when Ohio State beat Illinois 52-14 at Ohio Stadium. The Buckeyes and Fighting Illini were last scheduled to play in 2020, but that game in Champaign was canceled due to a COVID-19 outbreak at Ohio State.
Ohio State has a 69-30-4 all-time record against Illinois with nine straight wins dating back to 2008.
