Ohio State started Big Ten play with a convincing road win over Washington, and a dominant performance by the Buckeyes’ top two defensive linemen was the story.
Caden Curry and Kayden McDonald established themselves as not only stars on Ohio State’s defense but perhaps two of the best defensive linemen in all of college football as they combined for 18 total tackles, eight tackles for loss and five sacks. The Buckeyes’ defense still hasn’t let an opponent score double digits this season as they held Washington to just a pair of field goals in their 24-6 victory.
On the other side of the ball, Julian Sayin’s poise and ability to manage the game stood out as he completed 22 of 28 passing attempts for 208 yards and two touchdowns, while also showing he could make plays with his legs when he needed to, which had been our biggest lingering question about Ohio State’s quarterback entering conference play.
