Bo Jackson's climb to the top of Ohio State's running back room is complete.
On Saturday, the freshman made his first career start in the Buckeyes' home night game against Minnesota, surpassing CJ Donaldson and James Peoples, who split the first three starts at running back for Ohio State.
Jackson didn't get any carries in Week 1 against Texas after turning heads with an impressive spring and fall camp, but burst onto the scene in the Buckeyes' second and third games against Grambling State and Ohio. Rattling off back-to-back 100-yard performances, he collected a combined 217 yards on just 18 carries (12.1 yards per carry) and one touchdown. He added another 80 yards on 17 carries against Washington, giving him 35 carries for 297 yards (8.5 per carry) and one touchdown this season.
The No. 161 overall prospect and No. 11 running back in the 247Sports composite rankings for the class of 2025, Jackson is already outperforming that solid standing four games into his Ohio State career. He'll be set on making more big plays before the Ohio Stadium crowd in game five.
Peoples and Donaldson are still expected to rotate with Jackson to keep everyone fresh. Donaldson is likely to remain Ohio State's short-yardage back.
