It’s the first foray into coaching for Holmes, who caught 140 passes for 2,295 yards and 25 touchdowns for the Buckeyes from 2003-05. Holmes went on to play for nine years in the NFL, highlighted by his MVP performance in Super Bowl XLIII, when he caught nine passes for 131 yards including the game-winning touchdown with 35 seconds to play in the Pittsburgh Steelers’ 27-23 win over the Arizona Cardinals.
Holmes joins a new coaching staff at Central State, a Division II HBCU located in Wilberforce, Ohio, led by former NFL and Florida State cornerback Tony Carter.
