Ohio State has two 99 overall wide receivers in this year’s football video games.
After Jeremiah Smith became the first player to earn a 99 overall rating at launch in EA Sports College Football 27, Jaxon Smith-Njigba has joined the 99 Club in Madden NFL 27.

The 2025 NFL Offensive Player of the Year received the honor after a sensational season with the Seattle Seahawks, joining reigning NFL MVP Matthew Stafford (Los Angeles Rams), reigning Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett (Los Angeles Rams), Josh Allen (Buffalo Bills), Ja’Marr Chase (Cincinnati Bengals) and Trey McBride (Arizona Cardinals) among the game’s highest-rated players.
Smith-Njigba put together the best season of his career in 2025, hauling in an NFL-leading 119 receptions for a league-best 1,793 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns while helping lead Seattle to its second Super Bowl championship. He was just as dominant in the postseason, totaling 17 catches for 199 yards and two touchdowns across three playoff games.
His breakout campaign was rewarded in March with a record-setting four-year, $168.6 million contract extension that made him the NFL’s highest-paid wide receiver. The deal carries an average annual value of $42.15 million and includes $120 million in guaranteed money, both records for the position.
Three months later, TIME recognized Smith-Njigba as one of the 100 most influential people in sports, placing him in its Titan category alongside global icons such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Rory McIlroy, Alex Morgan and Victor Wembanyama.
Now, the former Ohio State star has another accolade to add to the list, earning a coveted spot in Madden NFL 27‘s exclusive 99 Club while giving the Buckeyes a pair of 99 overall wide receivers across this year’s football video games.
