Seven members of last year’s Ohio State roster will be in Indianapolis for the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine.

Wide receivers Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson, tight end Jeremy Ruckert, offensive linemen Thayer Munford and Nicholas Petit-Frere and defensive linemen Haskell Garrett and Tyreke Smith are the seven Buckeyes who have been invited to participate in this year’s pre-draft showcase.

All seven of those Buckeyes are expected to be selected in the 2022 NFL draft, led by Wilson and Olave, who are both projected first-round picks. Either of them could make the case that they should be the top wide receiver drafted this year with a strong combine showing, while the other five Buckeyes will all look to solidify their draft stock with their combine workouts.

Seven is the lowest number of combine invites Ohio State has had since 2015, when the Buckeyes had only four invitees; Ohio State had twice as many combine invites last year. The Buckeyes don’t have as many prospects in this year’s draft class, however, after several potential draft picks including defensive end Zach Harrison, cornerback Cameron Brown and offensive tackle Dawand Jones opted to stay at Ohio State for their senior seasons.

Ohio State’s seven invitees are tied for the 11th-most among all schools this year.

Other Ohio State draft hopefuls who were not invited to the combine include running back Master Teague, defensive tackle Antwuan Jackson and cornerback/wide receiver Demario McCall.

The NFL Scouting Combine, which will be back in its full-scale form this year after workouts were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic is last year, will be held from February 28 to March 6 in Indianapolis. Olave, Wilson and Ruckert will go through their workouts on Thursday, March 3; Munford and Petit-Frere will work out on Friday, March 4; and Smith and Garrett will be on the field on Saturday, March 5.
