A current Ohio State wide receiver and a former Ohio State wide receiver are among the 10 semifinalists for this year’s Biletnikoff Award.

While all three of Ohio State’s current starting wide receivers have a strong case for being Biletnikoff Award semifinalists, Chris Olave is the one who was actually named a semifinalist on Monday.

With 51 receptions for 708 yards, Olave actually has the third-most catches and receiving yards among Ohio State receivers this season behind Jaxon Smith-Njigba (59 catches for 1,027 yards) and Garrett Wilson (53 catches for 813 yards). That said, Olave is currently tied for the lead among all Football Bowl Subdivision players with 11 receiving touchdowns.

Former Ohio State wide receiver Jameson Williams, who is Alabama’s leading receiver this season with 51 catches for 1,028 yards and 10 touchdowns (plus two kickoff return touchdowns), is also among the 10 Biletnikoff semifinalists.

Olave is one of three Big Ten receivers who were named semifinalists on Monday along with Purdue’s David Bell and Penn State’s Jahan Dotson. The other semifinalists are Pitt’s Jordan Addison, North Carolina’s Josh Downs, USC’s Drake London, Wake Forest’s A.T. Perry, Western Kentucky’s Jerreth Sterns and Utah State’s Deven Thompkins.
