Somehow, someway, we have passed the penultimate week in the 2020 NFL regular season.

It was the last week of the fantasy season and I am glad to say that for the first time in our league's history, I won. Humble brag for team Cecil Pants, which eked into the playoffs as the No. 4 seed but won it all.

It was another interesting week for Buckeyes around the league. The news just came in from Washington that Dwayne Haskins has been released, but Chase Young was named a captain in his place and J.K. Dobbins scored for the fifth straight game. Let's break it all down.

Wild Times in Washington

The Dwayne Haskins era in Washington D.C. has reached an unfortunate end, with the Football Team releasing the beleaguered quarterback just a few minutes ago.

Haskins, released just one year after being selected in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft, went just 14/28 for 154 yards and two interceptions in his final act yesterday.

He was ultimately benched for Taylor Heinicke in the fourth quarter.

The Dwayne Train will now look to get rolling in a new city. I can definitely see him going to Pittsburgh, learning from Big Ben, and torching the Bengals for 10 years.

In good news, Chase Young took Haskins' vacated captain spot, quite an honor for the rookie who has had a marvelous season.

Young, the frontrunner for Defensive Rookie of the Year, has 5.5 sacks, numerous QB hits/hurries, and three forced fumbles so far this season.

The Washington Football Team is hoping to get back to the playoffs, but must beat Philadelphia next week on Sunday Night Football in order to receive a birth.

J.K. Dobbins Scores in Fifth Straight Game

Speaking of another Buckeye rookie who has enjoyed a good season, J.K. Dobbins has come on quite strong for the Ravens (who have won four straight games) towards the end of the season, and yesterday was no different.

Dobbins rushed for 77 yards on just 11 carries (7.0 ypc), and this short touchdown, his fifth score in as many games.

Dobbins and the Ravens play the Bengals next week in a game they must also win in order to secure a playoff bid.

Lots of Leaders

Here is a list of Buckeyes that led their team in specific categories on Sunday:

  • Ezekiel Elliott led Cowboys in rushing (105 yards)
  • Curtis Samuel led Panthers in rushing (52 yards) and receiving (106 yards)
  • Kendall Sheffield led Falcons in tackles (9)
  • Jerome Baker led Dolphins in tackles (10)
  • Raekwon McMillan led Raiders in tackles (9)
