Every starter on Ohio State's offense, nearly every starter on Ohio State's defense and a few additional players were named champions for their performances in Saturday's 38-25 win over Penn State.
A total of 24 champions were named by Ohio State on Monday for the Buckeyes' 13-point win over the Nittany Lions, including 14 offensive players and 10 defensive players.
All 11 starters on offense – Justin Fields, Master Teague, offensive player of the game Chris Olave, Garrett Wilson, Luke Farrell, Jeremy Ruckert, Thayer Munford, Harry Miller, Josh Myers, Wyatt Davis and Nicholas Petit-Frere – were named champions along with running back Trey Sermon, wide receiver Jameson Williams and tight end Jake Hausmann.
On defense, the only starters who weren't named champions were cornerbacks Shaun Wade, Sevyn Banks and Marcus Williamson. Five defensive linemen were named champions – defensive player of the game Tommy Togiai, Haskell Garrett, Zach Harrison, Jonathon Cooper and Tyreke Smith – along with linebackers Tuf Borland, Baron Browning and Pete Werner and safeties Marcus Hooker and Josh Proctor.
Tight end Cade Stover was also named as Ohio State's special teams player of the game.
