Ohio State's staff of quality control coaches and graduate assistants for 2020 includes two new additions who previously played for the Buckeyes' Big Ten East foes to the north.

Former Michigan linebacker Joe Bolden, a Cincinnati native who played for the Wolverines from 2012-15, has joined Ohio State's staff as a quality control coach.

A captain for Jim Harbaugh's first Michigan team in 2015, Bolden attended Colerain High School – where his father, who later became the head coach at Colerain, was an assistant to Ohio State defensive coordinator Kerry Coombs. Ohio State co-defensive coordinator Greg Mattison was on Michigan's staff during Bolden's career with the Wolverines, and special teams coordinator/assistant secondary coach Matt Barnes was also a defensive analyst for the Wolverines in 2015.

Before joining the Buckeyes, Bolden was a special teams quality control analyst at USC. He was previously a defensive graduate assistant at Washington State in 2017 and 2018 after spending one year as a graduate assistant at his alma mater.

Former Michigan State safety/linebacker Grayson Miller, who played for the Spartans from 2015-18, has also joined Ohio State's staff for the 2020 season as a graduate assistant working with the defensive backs.

Miller, who started six games at safety for the Spartans in 2015 and 2016 before moving to linebacker later in his career, was previously a defensive graduate assistant at Ohio University.
