Former Ohio State and New Orleans Saints defensive end Will Smith will join one of the Saints' most exclusive clubs on Sunday.

The Saints announced Wednesday that Smith will be inducted into the team's Ring of Honor, becoming the sixth person to receive that honor, during the team's home game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.

A star on Ohio State's 2002 national championship team and an All-American, team captain and Big Ten Defensive Lineman of the Year in 2003, Smith was drafted by the Saints in the first round of the 2004 NFL draft and went on to play nine seasons for the team.

In those nine seasons, Smith recorded 67.5 sacks, earned a Pro Bowl berth in 2006 and helped lead the Saints to their first-ever Super Bowl win in 2010.

Smith was killed in a shooting in 2016, but Sunday's ceremony will ensure that Smith will be remembered for decades to come as one of the Saints' all-time greats.

He joins Archie Manning, Rickey Jackson, Willie Roaf, Morten Anderson and late team owner Tom Benson in the Saints' Ring of Honor.
