Social Reactions: Buckeye Fans in Southwest Ohio Are Safe For Another Day

Having been born and raised in southwestern Ohio, I've spent the last week pleading with anyone who will listen to please, for the love of God, take the Cincinnati game seriously. I was worried that a competent Bearcats team and a lackadaisical effort from Ohio State could spell an upset and turn a 40ish mile radius around the Queen City into a Mad Maxian hellscape for any Buckeye fan unfortunate enough to live there.

It turns out I had it backwards. As much as we love Luke Fickell, his Bearcats were sloppy and bad (including and especially on defense), and Ryan Day's Buckeyes were sharp as a finely honed Hanzo steel blade. The result? 42-0, and this Middletown native can rest easy.

Until the 21st, when Miami University rolls into town. Haha I'm just kidding! They're terrible. I think, right? Oh God. I hope they are.

MINE WAS TAKING PICTURES OF HIM AT MEDIA DAY IN 2011 AND THINKING "OH MAN THIS DUDE IS WAY TOO SWEATY FOR THIS SEASON TO GO WELL"

THE REST

Next week the team travels to Bloomington to take on the currently undefeated and therefore likely future national champions Indiana Hoosiers. See you then!
