Andrew Norwell's signing with the Jacksonville Jaguars became official on Thursday morning, when the team announced its deal with the former Ohio State guard.

Norwell's deal with the Jaguars, which was first reported on Tuesday by ESPN's Adam Schefter and NFL Media's Ian Rapoport, is reportedly a five-year contract worth $66.5 million. According to a Thursday morning report by The MMQB's Albert Breer, Norwell is set to make $30 million in the first two years of the contract – all fully guaranteed, including a $15 million signing bonus – while the remainder of the contract is not guaranteed.

Norwell, who played for Ohio State from 2010 to 2013, spent his first four NFL seasons with the Carolina Panthers and is coming off a season in which he earned AP All-Pro honors as the best left guard in the league.

Norwell is now the NFL's highest-paid Buckeye, and the first Ohio State product in the league with an eight-figure average salary.

The massive contract offer certainly played a part in Norwell's decision to join the Jaguars, but he told the media at his introductory press conference on Thursday that he also joined the Jaguars – who made it to the AFC Championship Game last season – because he believes they are capable of contending for a championship this upcoming season.

"[The Jaguars] are on the verge of something great," Norwell said Thursday, according to Mike Kaye of First Coast News. "Bringing me down here, we're going to look forward to winning the Super Bowl in 2018, cause that's what it's about."
