Ohio State's defensive line has been one of the best units of the football team throughout Urban Meyer's tenure as head coach, and both Larry Johnson and a litany of top flight recruits have helped maintain that group as a core strength.

Defensive tackle Taron Vincent, the No. 1 player at his position and the No. 13 player overall in the country, is just the latest of a long line of five star defensive linemen to make their way to Columbus. He just racked up another in a long line of accolades that he's collected over his high school career. According to CBS Philly:

His quickness, strength, speed, agility and work ethic have forged one of the nation’s best high school defensive tackles and the Maxwell Club’s first-ever National Defensive High School Player of the Year, sponsored by adidas. Taron will be honored at the annual Maxwell Club gala Friday night at the Tropicana in Atlantic City.

Vincent, the son of former NFL player and current NFL executive vice president of football operations Troy Vincent, said that he was "shocked" when the announcement was made, but maybe he shouldn't be; there's a reason why he's considered to be one of the best members of possibly the best recruiting class in Ohio State history. Now there's another award on his mantle to prove it.
