Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott, the No. 4 pick of the 2017 NFL Draft, dethroned New England Patriot quarterback (and Michigan Man) Tom Brady for the No. 1 spot in the year-end merchandise/apparel list, the NFL Players Association announced Wednesday morning.

He is the first rookie to top year-end sales in NFL history.

“It’s pretty humbling,” Elliott said. “When you’re a rookie, you’re just looking to put your head down, help the team, and learn the ropes. To accomplish this level of success off the field shows just how passionate football fans are in Dallas, Ohio, my home state of Missouri and all around the world. And to be up there with Dak and Dez, alongside great players like Tom Brady and Odell Beckham, is very special to me.”

While the equity of the Cowboys #brand is known, it's still notable Elliott leads even Offensive Rookie of the Year Dak Prescott and is the only running back among the top ten:

  1. Ezekiel Elliott (RB, Cowboys)
  2. Dak Prescott (QB, Cowboys)
  3. Tom Brady (QB, Patriots)
  4. Dez Bryant (WR, Cowboys)
  5. Odell Beckham Jr. (WR, Giants)
  6. Russell Wilson (QB, Seahawks)
  7. Carson Wentz (QB, Eagles)
  8. Aaron Rodgers (QB, Packers)
  9. Rob Ronkowski (TE, Patriots)
  10. Cam Newton (QB, Panthers)

The Cowboys rookie rushing record-holder appeared in 15 games in 2016. He finished with 1,631 yards and 15 touchdowns on 322 carries while also adding 32 receptions for 363 yards and a touchdown through the air.

The list covers sales from March 1, 2016 to Feb. 28, 2017.
