Ohio State wasn't perfect in its 38-12 victory over Western Michigan on Saturday, but it was a step in the right direction. And it was still more than enough to retain the No. 1 spot in both the AP Top 25 and the Coaches Poll, both released on Sunday.

Ohio State only lost a single point in the Coaches Poll, but retained all 61 of the first place votes it held last week. The Big Ten placed four teams in the poll, but Michigan was not one of them.

As for the AP Top 25: The Buckeyes retained their No. 1 spot and picked up three first-place votes it had lost last week. Michigan is the No. 22 team in the country; the Big Ten placed five teams in the polls.

It's the 100th week the Buckeyes have been ranked No. 1 in program history, which is second all-time behind Oklahoma. The Sooners hold the record with 101 weeks as the nation's top-ranked team according to the AP Poll.

Ohio State's next game is at Indiana on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
