Ohio State Releases Spring Game Rosters

Ohio State holds the record for spring game attendance (95,722) in 2009, but with Ohio State's national title and tomorrow's forecast being 75 and sunny, that record might not be around much longer.

Urban Meyer said this week he loves big crowds for the spring game. Well, the university announced today 61,000 tickets have been sold. That number doesn't include students (who get in free with a valid BuckID) and four-thousand comped and sponsored tickets.

As for the game — Kyle Jones had a great breakdown on things to watch — Zach Smith will lead the gray team against Larry Johnson's scarlet squad. 

The gray team won't lack for playmakers. To go with Cardale Jones, they also have Johnnie Dixon, Curtis Samuel, Jalin Marshall, Noah Brown, James Clark, Nick Vannett, and Bri'onte Dunn, who has drawn rave reviews this spring.

On the defensive side of the ball, the gray team offers us our first look at Dublin's Nick Conner, an early-enrollee freshman linebacker. Sam Hubbard, a defensive end bursting with potential, will also line up for the gray squad.

On the other side of the ball, redshirt freshman Stephen Collier will orchestrate the scarlet offense. And make no mistake, the scarlet won't lack for playmakers either.

Dontre Wilson, budding starlet Parris Campbell, Michael Thomas, and Terry McLaurin are on the scarlet roster.

The scarlet's defense would be scarier if OSU's blue-chip guys were playing the full game. Joey Bosa, Darron Lee, Vonn Bell, Tyvis Powell, and Raekwon McMillan are all members of that team.

Even though it's an intra-squad scrimmage, it should still be a fun one tomorrow in the Shoe. As always, the loser has to landscape the Buckeye Grove.
