Ohio State has lost a second commitment on National Signing Day.

Hours after four-star wide receiver Kayden Dixon-Wyatt flipped from the Buckeyes to USC, four-star athlete Legend Bey flipped from Ohio State to Tennessee, where he originally committed.

A Texas native, Bey is the No. 175 overall prospect and No. 9 athlete in the recruiting class of 2026. He initially flipped from the Volunteers to the Buckeyes on Nov. 10 after taking an official visit to Columbus for the Penn State game on Nov. 1.

Bey is an explosive and dynamic athlete, featuring a 4.33-second 40-yard dash time and an 11-foot-1 broad jump. Ohio State planned to use him as a versatile weapon on offense in the future, with an opportunity for him to land either in the Buckeyes' wide receiver room or their running back room. He also would have been a candidate to get involved in the return game early on special teams.

Without Bey, Ohio State's running back class is officially down to one member, four-star Favour Akih. The Buckeyes have signed two wide receivers thus far on National Signing Day, four-star Jaeden Ricketts and three-star Brock Boyd, but are still waiting on five-star Chris Henry Jr. and four-star Jerquaden Guilford to send in their paperwork.

247Sports reported earlier on Wednesday that there was immense pressure from Bey's family to sign with Tennessee. Per the report, his mother wouldn't sign off on the commitment, and Ohio State would have waited until his 18th birthday arrived in three weeks to accept the signing through compliance.

Brian Hartline's recently announced departure for the head coaching job at South Florida after the College Football Playoff has been a main cause of the tumult in the receiver room. It's unclear whether that was the last straw that pushed Bey to Tennessee, combined with his family's pressure. Regardless, Ohio State loses an explosive piece of its 2026 class.
