Urban Meyer's 2020 recruiting class is already off to a hot start. The group includes seven commitments, all of whom are of the four-star variety or better. The crown jewel thus far is five-star Cincinnati tackle Paris Johnson Jr. Another coveted five-star released his top seven schools tonight, and the Buckeyes are right in the thick of things.

Mekhail Sherman is an outside linebacker/defensive end for Washington, D.C.'s St. Johns College High School. He's got offers from every power program in the country and checks in as the nation's No. 13 prospect regardless of position. The five-star is a teammate of wide receiver Rakim Jarrett and defensive tackle Tre Williams and all three are priority targets for 2020.

We always caution people not to get too worked up over early lists when signing day is well over a year away, but the Sherman recruitment is absolutely one that Buckeye fans should keep a close eye on. The 6-foot-3, 234-pounder was in Columbus for the Michigan game and already has plans to get back to town with family in tow. Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, LSU, Penn State and Michigan were also included among his top choices.

The St. John's trio may be three of the more important recruits for 2020, and right now Ohio State is very much in the thick of it for all three of them. Jarrett has listed Ohio State as his leader and dream school while Williams also spoke highly of last week's visit. The Buckeyes are currently the crystal ball favorite for each one of them.

A lot is bound to change between now and next summer when Sherman is scheduled to announce, but Ohio State is in a tremendous spot for one of the country's top players.
