The Hurry Up is your nightly dose of updates from the Ohio State football recruiting trail, keeping tabs on the latest from commits and targets from around the country.

LAST WORDS

Ohio State running back Mike Weber, like so many of you, will be tuned in to ESPN2 at 8:30 tonight when five-star wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones announces his college intentions.

“I'm going to be right on my couch,” said Weber, who played alongside Peoples-Jones at Detroit Cass Tech.

Michigan, unsurprisingly, has long been considered the favorite to land the 6-foot-2, 193-pounder, but reports have surfaced in the last week suggesting it's a two-horse race between Florida State and Ohio State.

So, Mike, do the Buckeyes have a chance?

“I've been talking to him a lot trying to get him to come here. It's a good chance,” Weber said. “I really don't know [if he's coming here]. He won't tell me where he's going. I don't even think he knows. I mean, he probably do. He just won't tell me.”

If the top-rated wideout in the country won't tell one of his best friends, I doubt anyone has a real grasp on what Peoples-Jones will do tonight. I just wouldn't get your hopes up.

TRENDING THE WRONG WAY

Las Vegas, Nevada, Bishop Gorman four-star safety Bubba Bolden announced on Twitter late last night he will make his college decision public at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas, on Jan. 7, 2017.

We know the 6-foot-3, 190-pound Bolden has narrowed down his choices to Ohio State and USC. But to add intrigue, he has an official visit to Los Angeles scheduled for the week after his decision.

Will he still make that trip?

"I can't release that info," Bolden's mother, Breezy, told Eleven Warriors with a laugh; answering the question would surely tip her son's hand.

With teammates Tate Martell, Tyjon Lindsey and Haskell Garrett in the fold, many believed Ohio State would secure a commitment from Bolden during his official visit in early November. But Bolden grew up a fan of and was committed to USC for seven months before reopening his recruitment in July, and things are clearly trending back in that direction.

IT'S AN HONOR

The U.S. Army All-American Bowl Selection Committee announced today the finalists for the American Family Insurance Defensive Player of the Year Award. The nominees include, in alphabetical order:

  • Ohio State five-star linebacker commit Baron Browning of Kennedale, Texas;
  • Auburn four-star linebacker commit Tadarian Moultry of Birmingham, Alabama;
  • UCLA five-star defensive end commit Jaelan Phillips of Redlands, California;
  • Uncommitted five-star defensive tackle Aubrey Solomon of Leesburg, Georgia.
  • Ohio State five-star cornerback commit Shaun Wade of Jacksonville, Florida; and
  • Ohio State five-star defensive end commit Chase Young of Hyattsville, Maryland.

Wade has also been named a finalist for the Lockheed Martin Defensive Back of the Year, and is joined by the aforementioned Bolden and Ohio State cornerback target Darnay Holmes.

Young, meanwhile, has also been named a finalist for the Anthony Munoz Lineman of the Year Award alongside his future teammate, offensive guard Wyatt Davis.

Winners will be announced during the U.S. Army All-American Bowl Awards Show in San Antonio, Texas, on Jan. 6, 2017.
